About The Romeros
There are very few true living legends in the world of classical music, few who have sustained greatness and grown throughout their lives. Pepe Romero is such an artist. He has been honored by kings, heads of state, and major institutions-the encomiums continue to pour in. But to Romero, his most important contribution has been reaching the common man. He has communicated the richness and beauty of the classical guitar to millions of people throughout the world. He has, indeed, become an ambassador of classical music, and correspondingly, of the classical guitar.

When Celino Romero joined the all-family Classical guitar quartet, Los Romeros, in 1990 he ushered in the third generation of the group’s esteemed history. Established by Celino’s grandfather, father and uncles in their native Spain, Los Romeros have been performing together since 1960 for audiences worldwide. They are regarded by the New York Times as “The Royal Family of the Guitar.” Celino was joined 6 years later by his cousin Lito, who stepped in to replace their grandfather. Los Romeros have performed for dignitaries worldwide, including two American Presidents, Pope John Paul II and the King of Spain. In 2007, Los Romeros were granted The Recording Academy's President's Merit Award from the GRAMMYS in honor of their artistic achievements.
In addition to touring with Los Romeros, Celino performs as a soloist in recital and with major orchestras, as well as collaborating in duets with other family members. The entire group participates in teaching master classes on guitar, and Celino is expanding his reach as an instructor over the internet, with both live and recorded instruction.

The James Hunley Guitar Studio
The James Hunley Guitar studio is a family of diverse people who support each other on the path of music. Our studio members travel, have performance events, and give various scholarships to students in our community.
It is truly unique to have a studio of this kind in a world that is very competitive. Having such diversity and support among its members is truly a source of pride. We are honored to offer the kind of environment where students can grow and achieve their musical ambitions through the guitar.
Since my teaching studio is almost always full, I would like to recommend two performing artists, Stevielyn Munoz and David Paul Torres, whose students will be considered a part of the Hunley Guitar Studio and join in upcoming studio events
About James Hunley
James Hunley is considered to be the best guitar teacher in Los Angeles by many world class guitarists, including world renowned classical guitarist, Pepe Romero.
Mr. Hunley's early studies began with Miguel Bernal, a student of Andres Segovia, and at age 16 he began studying with Prof. Frank Koonce at Arizona State University. James then attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he was awarded a full Sponsorship by Texas Oilman Hal Noelke.
Following his studies at the Conservatory, James spent 3 years cross referencing 17 major guitar schools to outline the essential elements of technique they had in common. He then went on to complete his studies with his close friend and mentor Pepe Romero.
In 1992 he began recording the first of his Cd's with Alta Nova records, and his music video, "La Catedtral' was seen nationally and internationally in prime time.
James was the host of "The Acoustic Experience" television series, as well as the producer for Pepe Romero's Emmy Award winning performance of "Recuerdos de la Alhambra".
Mr. Hunley has performed over 400 paid concerts to critical acclaim, one of which was the Vivaldi Concerto that prompted critic Robert Massula to write "His delivery of the Vivaldi was exquisite- beautifully phrased amazingly subtle and incredibly sure."
A note from Maestro Pepe to James
Greetings my friend!
I'm glad to hear that your studio is doing well and that you are sharing your love of the guitar with students of all levels.
I am writing this letter to publicly endorse and recommend your teaching.
I know you are giving technical and musical guidance, which developing guitarists need in order to achieve mastery. I also know that you encourage students by your own inspired example to bring out their own inner musician and experience the joy of personally connecting to the guitar.
Keep up your commitment to teaching from spirit and I hope to see you soon"
~ un abrazo, Pepe Romero
